When smart kids come up with a 'street cred' name to be called by friends, it has some kind of scientific meaning to it.

That is so cool. My hood name was nerd.
Mine was "bucky". Because I had buck teeth. By the time I was a Sophomore with straight teeth, I told them it was time to get a new nickname for me.
