50 shades of P!NK

P!NK tickets for Vegas went on sale MONTHS before the concert date.
She sold out within minutes to the pre-sale buyers.
Paula and I's annual Vegas Bday Vaca was the same weekend as the concert.
Weeks prior, Jay D and myself were checking KSL and Craigslist hoping to score some seats.
At $500+ /tix online, Paula and I decided we would just try to work it once we were in Vegas.
We called Mandalay Bay every hour asking if they had opened any more seats.
The answer was always no.
NO does not work for us........it's not an answer we can accept.
We got ourselves ready, hailed a taxi and lined up behind 9,000 people.

The crowd made me deaf, dumb and blind......and add in some heart palps which kicked in the start of a mild panic attack.
[I don't know if it's because of my thyroid issues, cranky old age or scared of group love, but there are certain times a smother of people freaks me out.]
I was in a dazed coma as Paula grabbed me by the hand, and with a soldier look on her face, she marched us through the sea of sardines.

That lil momma can be forceful and strong when in mind set!
She kept saying, "WE WILL see this concert dammit!"
I honestly was fogged with duh as she continually made her face known to the box office people who told us we could stand in line and 'hope' tix would come avail.
We were the first in the 'I will do anything for tickets' line, and within an hour, the line had grown close to 100 behind us.

As we waited.....and waited....and waited....we watched groups walk to the box office with paper receipts  and were turned away because they were scammed by online ticket sellers!!!!
[the online site said it was secure!!
beware!]
One party of girls paid $1,000/tix online!
Mandalay apologized for their unfortunate situation, but told them they were out their money and not going to see the show!!!
Handfuls of people walked away pissed and disappointed.
My positive energy of Paula and I getting a ticket was starting to hit an all time low.  I figured, if they didn't give a consolation ticket to the poor saps that were scammed, they sure ass hell aren't going to give us tickets!
About the time I was ready to call it and accept that we wouldn't be entertained by P!NK that night, I see one of the box office ladies aggressively waving her hand to Paula and I to come to the counter.
Paula was too busy socializing and didn't see our invite.  I put my hand on the mid of her back and pushed her toward the counter saying, "get the f... up there!  hurry!"
They had only opened two sets of tickets.
One that was $150/each
and the other that was $53/each  [$68 with fees] but had an obstructed view.
We chose the cheap seats......which turned out to be a great decision!

We were in serious shock and disbelief that we
GOT FREAKIN P!NK TICKETS!!!!!!
We repeated it over and over to each other while jumping up and down!

She had been sitting in the crowd and surprised everyone once the show started and the camera zoomed in on her.
Can you even imagine having her that close?!?!?!
She is everything and more than I thought she would be.
She is strikingly beautiful with soft feminine features, yet also has a tough masculine side to her that is strong and confident.
Her body is killer and it's muscular stature puts on an amazing physical show.
She sings while doing acrobatic flips and spins in the air.
Her lung capacity must take her whole chest because she doesn't run out of breath and keeps in beautiful tune.
She is my idol, my fav concert, and I'm pretty sure one of my besties  now since she made it a point to wave to Paula and I each time she walked back stage to costume change!  We know she was waving to us, because we were the only one's in that area!
Hence: cheap, OBSTUCTED view tickets.
We had a unique view point of everything going on back stage.  I wondered how we got so lucky to be privy to such an amazing night :)
The waters parted for us.......like they always do.

This is P!NK backstage!  See how close we are?!?!?

{Who Knew}

I cried through this entire song.
Her passion seeps into your skin and you feel all emotion with each word.

{F*ckin Perfect}

Warning:  You can hear my screechy, out of tune voice singing along.
I AM REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SORRY about that! YIKES!
Warning II:  There is a part that my speaker gets muffled.....but keep listening

The end of the video is my favorite part.
To Paula's children:  When you become a teenager and you think your momma is old and lame......just watch this video.
THIS is your mom!
Happy, dancing, rockin', singing, and radiating beauty.

P!NK is is more than a one dimensional artist...
she is a therapy rainbow of talent!
She's coming to SLC in October!!!
Go see her for your own therapy rainbow!

Two rights don't make a left

I can't believe it's already been three whole weeks since Paula and I were living it up in Vegas for our annual February birthday celebration!
The fact that it's been THREE weeks since I've been able to even post anything about it, should tell you that it was a looooong recovery once we were home!
Don't get me wrong!
I loved every freekin minute of the self inflicted punishment I put on myself that would need three weeks to recover from!
Lot's of dancing [leg bruises on the backs of my legs from chair dancing], walking, drinking and laughing.
Not so much of sleeping, lounging, eating, or washing hair!
All of the above things just became a hassle that we didn't have time for!!!
We were in VEGAS dammit!!!!
Bing Bang Boom!
Keep it moving!
Keep a buzz!
Keep giggling!!!
Keep applying skin plumping cream to disguise the tired skin dripping off our faces,
and Keep a hat or a bun on your head and nobody even knows the dif!

We boarded the plane leaving SLC early Friday morn.
I was already exhausted and needed a spinal adjustment from the HUGE/HEAVY bags I chose to pack.
I was pissed at myself, but I know I will over-do it again next year!
I'm a habitual mass packer!
Hey!  If the plane goes down, and we are stranded in the middle of Vegas for two weeks, guess who the gals are gonna be ass kissin for a clean pair of panties and glitter-open toed wedges!
They sure as hell won't be bugging the girl that throws a dress and a t-shirt in a backpack and hail marys her way to look rockin on the dance floor!
NO!!!!!
It will be moi!
Everyone will wish they were friends with me and my Big Bertha Bag!

To the left is Paula's accessory case.
The one to the right would be mine.
You get the point!

After unpacking and filling every drawer, closet and counter space, a lil break was needed.

We pulled two chairs up to the window, popped the top off a can of Bud Light, and proceeded to stare at our magnificent view of
smog and a parking garage!

I had to blink and pinch myself to make sure what we were seeing was real.
A man and his backpack [I initially thought it was a child!] climbed to the top of the parking garage and sat on a peak.
Paula and I nervously watched as we expected to be the only witnesses to him jumping to his death.  My heart skipped when he threw his backpack/imaginary child to the ground.
This was just too much!!!  My pits were dripping, I chugged two more beers without realizing it, and I wondered why I was so sick and wrong to want to watch a man end his life....
not to mention,
IT'S VEGAS AND I'M IN MY HOTEL DRINKING CANNED BEER LOOKING AT A GARAGE THAT NOW HAS NO MAN ON IT!!!!
[IMALAHOOOOOOZER!]
I assume he climbed off the ledge and made his way down safely since I couldn't see a splot on the pavement below.
Luckily at that moment my obsession turned to the phone.
[I am very easily distracted.  Blame it on my ADD]
I received a call from Amie [my Colorado Gingy] who was staying in the hotel next to us with her hubs and their friends.

They were already three sheets [From the gallon of Jager they bought on the Indian reservation!  When your liquor comes with a PUMP because it's too heavy to pick up and pour, then you've got some drunken days ahead!]

They came to our room hootin and hollerin!  We were all so happy to be together and having so much fun that I wouldn't have been surprised if we had security knocking on our door to "quiet down".
Thankfully we didn't.

Mike and Amie's daughter Jordan surprised us all with her pop-in visit from Cali.
It's a crime to be that beautiful!

Warning: Don't show this picture to young children.
Reoccurring nightmares of the big eyed duck face lady can be traumatizing for years.

Awe....shes such an angeldevilangeldevil

There's nothing like a Bloody Mary to get your hangover gone and your day started on the right foot!
This one had shaved chunks of horseradish!
AHHHH!!!  It was kick A!
We had some great food, drinks and service, but our budget was running low and it was only the second day!
We decided that we would need to start sharing meals because $60 for two burgers, bloody mary's and a basket of fries would make us homeless fast!
EVERYTHING is so damn expensive in Vegas.
Wish it was more affordable because paying that much for food
always leaves a bad taste in my mouth!

I was drawn to a Mystical Unicorn penny machine.
I have some kind of reason behind playing certain machines.
They have to have personal meaning or in some way has a relative picture to someone I love.
This particular machine reminded me of Chelise because she is always saying "Unicorns and glitter".
I sat down and within 3 spins, the entire screen filled with unicorns and glitter!!!
I walked up to the room with my $700 and told Paula,
"We be eating good now baby!"

It's a given that we wreck our feet in heels the first night dancing.  And then every night thereafter, we are stuck wearing flats!
I was brave on the second night and ventured out in platforms.  We made it as far as the cab, and said, "Screw this!!!!  I'm putting on my flip flops before we get to the House of Blues!"  I reached into my bag and was horrified when I  pulled out a brown and a black flipper flopper.......
BOTH RIGHT FEET!
ARGH!!!!!!!!

Trust me!
Two rights don't make a wrong left!
No matter how hard you try.....you just CAN NOT pull it off!

We met some awesome people throughout our stay.
We always do! Paula and I both enjoy talking to new people from all over the world.
It's our opportunity to feel like we live in a melting pot of a large city.....even if for only a few days.
The above picture is Paula dancing with our "Mexican Chelise"!!!
We adored her!
Paula said to the Mexi-Chelise, "OH!  I just love you!!  You remind me of someone I love and miss terribly!"
The hair, the face, the booty, the moves......she is Chelise's twin!
We also met a guy that looked and sang just like Bruno Mars!  And a lil gal that could dance the beat out of a song, and reminded us of Jennifer Grey!
And she even told us that, "nobody puts baby in the corner!"

I loved Paula's up-do that she threw together in less than 5 seconds!

Our all time fav fun spot is Carnival Court.
And it continued to NOT fail us!
Whew!!!  They had just re-opened it the weekend we were there. [Apparently they had been closed for months re-vamping the bar/dance floor.....although, we couldn't see any difference from the last 5 years we've been going there!  Maybe they chiseled the crud off the floor....
it didn't seem as sticky and I could see how that would take months to complete!]

One of these things is not like the other.

This couple is from AZ and we had a great time with them all night long at the C.C bar.
The dude was very generous with his tips and a gentleman in buying our drinks.

They were another example of people that made our trip an unforgettable experience.

After four full days of Vegas the wonderful, our Monday night departure made us sad to have to leave our freedoms of being irresponsible with time, money and intake behind.

Cheers my Paula-girl!
We did it again!
A trip that put a twinkle in our eye, reminded us that we are young and vibrant, that we could go a day or two or three without washing our hair, a continued buzz didn't let tiredness creep in, and expanded our ever growing friendship/sisterhood.

And of course how could I forget our bond in becoming Pink's friend!!!!!!

"What???? You saw Pink?"
you ask!?!?!?

Damn right we did!!!
And the story of how we got sold out tix is amazeballs!
Just wait til you see the pics!

Pink story coming soon :)
