At 4:30 today Jax sat in the salon chair looking like this.
1 1/2 hours later and............
A BAM!!!!!!
Jax LOVES the new look.
I personally think it makes him look 17, and a bit gangsta-ish.....which are two things that are not necessarily positive.
But I still can't quit looking at him in amazement of how transforming 12 little ol' braids could be!
As he went to bed tonight with the stocking on his head [to protect his hair], he was uncomfortable and complained of his head hurting. I don't know.....maybe this is just a phase and he will want to go back to those nice curls that make him look so dang cute, or maybe he will get used to the tension on his scalp and keep up the rows.
I think a lot will depend on what kind of response he gets from other people.
But for tonight....
I look at him sleeping with a head that is unrecognizable to me.
I say, "Who dat kid?"

Jax looks amazing! I wish cornrows would work for me, it's the best hairdo for Monsoon season. Come on Jolie, give them a try...worked for Bo Derrick.

Ohhh! He loves them so much!! Great action corn row pics that totally depict his love of his transformation :) Luckily his head will adjust and I really like them! I think he looks like the karare kid. Maybe Will Smith IS related?? (oh, lets hit him up for child support!!)
I love it! What a great look on Jax. I agree....it does make him look older :( Unless he's planning on leaving the house with that nylon on his head, I don't think he looks gangsta-ish at all. Corn rows hurt like hell....but that's the white in me speaking I guess. I've been stupid enough to try them-a fun trip to Honduras allowed it. I had Jay D take them out the next day-they looked lame....me too whitee.
I agree! I hope he keeps them for awhile. They look cool and neat.

Love, Love the corn rows. They complete him. He definitey looks older. Be thankful he didn't want dreadlocks instead. Our Jax is growing up! Love you all to the moon and back!
