Stickin it to the man

Remember this bill???

The 30 mile highway robbery bill that charged me
ONE THOUSAND
SEVEN HUNDRED
 TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS
AND EIGHTY-FOUR CENTS?

stupid effin bill!

I called their billing department and told them that I would not pay this much for a 30 mile transport.
They sent me an application for "hardship" to try to have it written off.
I called back to the billing department and told them that I would not apply, nor would be accepted for a hardship, and these things should be left for people who truly need the assistance.
I repeated that I was not going to pay the full amount of the bill, not out of hardship, [although aren't we all in some kind of financial hardship?] but because it was a ridiculous amount!
If they could lower the cost by at least half, then I would pay it in full right now.
The billing Nazi, [who sounded 12 with an annoying air headed Barbi voice] said,
"Well the state accepts our pricing and we do not have to revise the price unless you are in hardship"

So I said,
"Ok then, set me up on a payment plan.
I will pay you $25 a month.....
that's what I am willing to do for you."

Dum Dum Barbi said, "OK!"

PEOPLE!!!!!!
They had an opportunity to get half the payment in cash, and they chose to take $25 payments to prove that they have the upper hand?!??!?
It's comical at this point because Barbi thought she was happily
"stickin it to the man"
But in all actuality, her company
"is the man"
She stuck it right up their own ass!

$1724.84 divided by $25 equals 69 months.
They will not get their last penny from me for almost
6 freekin years
I'm pretty happy with my payment plan :)

OMH Jol....way to barter with them! Isn't it amazing that they can justify this? "The state accepts this pricing..." MY ASS! I don't believe for ONE SECOND that medicaid/welfare would pay this bill in full......of course they can't tell you what Medicaid pays them because it's illegal to do so. In fact-that's why you're paying so much-because you have to make up for all of those who have either medicaid (who's reimbursement is so low it doesn't even cover costs) or those who have no insurance and don't pay a damn thing or don't care if it goes to collections. blah blah blah....there I go again! Way to stick it to em.

I know you too well.....I will be SHOCKED if you let this go 69 months....you will just pay it off eventually because you'll get sick of dealing with it-that's my prediction. Damn us for having a conscious and being responsible.

Go Jolie go! I have a friend that got a statement from his insurance company showing they had negotiated a $3000 bill down to $608.....something's very wrong with this system.
