{my friend plank}

Friday night we joined Derek and Lisa for dinner and a wine tasting shindig at the Vuz Restaurant/Vuda Bar.
The local radio stations were promoting the new Draper digs, by selling tickets to the "Rock and Wine" event.
For $11 each, we received a punch card allowing us to sample 3 whites, 3 reds and 1 champagne.  I had one white and decided to sweet talk the pouring peeps into just giving me reds for the remainder of my punch card.

They just happened to have my new favorite red blend corked, so that's what I chose to sip on all evening.
The restaurant and lounge had a very swanky feel.  I appreciated their style of decor and set up.
The food was good...a bit pricey for the quality, but worth going back.
There is a balcony patio that runs
the length of the lounge overlooking the valley.

What an awesome view and great ambiance! They have THE longest gas fire feature I've ever seen.

You know how I looooove an outdoor fire!
Fake fires of course....
I don't like to smell like burned wood and ash! Yuck!
So, after dindin and throwing back a few glasses of wine, we decided it was time to plank.
Oh!
You don't know what planking is?
It is the new craze of laying stiff as a plank on random objects and taking a picture to document your asinine adventure!
Of course we just HAD to plank!!
Hellooooo!
We be the dork-de-de-dork-dorks!
Derek gave everyone an initial scare by threatening his plank on top of the longest fire feature.
We all said , "please don't".
Then he got serious and found the next available plank stand.

A rack of stacked chairs worked nicely.
But you know me.....I'm a one upper, so I said,
"Oh yah Derek?!?
What about planking on only ONE chair huh????
We will see who his king/queen shit of the plankers!"

And here I am.
I've been called "my friend plank" for my dancing skills, but this took my plank qualities to a whole nubba lebel!
After my "superman" plank, they let me know "that planking is done with your arms to your side jackass!",
But I didn't care!
I was damn proud of my stiffness and form.

Because Randy is still a walking Popsicle due to his back injury, he opted out of planking.
We had one last fool person that was needing to fulfill her planking duties.
Her plank support of choice???

The hood of a car!
I kept singing in my head the good ol' 80's song "Here I go again", by White Snake.
Girl on hood of car=Tawny Kitaen.

Wrapping it all up, it was a wonderfully fun evening.
:)
When you've got great friends, LOTS of yummy wine, the longest fire pit in the world, and planking......
you're just happy everyone made it home without 911 being called!

This place looks so cool. Those fire pits are calling my name. Who would have thought all those years ago
(9 years to be exact) when we gave you your nickname of "My friend Plank" that it would really mean something one day? Oh-the irony!
