{so....what's going on?}
Here we are again, typing....typing....typing.
[would ya get a load of those feet?!?!?
he's all feet and hairy legs....
oh, and attitude]
He is enjoying this typing session more than the last one, which is the one where his mother (me) bared (sp?) her testimony about being a teenage wasteland.
(wtf was I thinking?)
Anyway.....we will move on from that motherly mistake......
moving on....
moving on I said!!!!
So, Riv was enjoying this session because he was NOT timed, and was able to write a story.
Riv is good at many things....but story writing was never one that I would have put in that category.....
until today.
His story of a boy named 'Ray' was very funny, witty, and entertaining. I found it endearing and reminiscent, because it was based on a true story about a boy named 'Riv'.
He made his momma (me) proud!
(and a little lot verklempt)
After listening to his typing story, I asked him,
"so what's going on in your life???
how did you like your guitar lessons tonight?
come on!!!
talk to YOUR MOM (me) DAMMIT!!!!"
Out of know where, he had diarrhea of the mouth! He talked of how he wants to work at the guitar shop when he is old enough to get a job.....and do I think he is old enough now to get that job?
I agreed that that kind of job would be a wonderful first time employment for him, but he will probably need to wait until he is 16.
He calculates that he has 3 more long years to wait for his application to be accepted.
And then, he tells me how his schedule will be......
He has it planned to work at the guitar shop as an instructor on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Another career of video game tester was thrown into the mix, which he will work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Of course he would want the evenings off for date nights with the girls.
DATE NIGHTS WITH THE GIRLS?!?!?
Holy Hell Dude!!!
You're giving your mother (me) a full on panic attack!
Ok, maybe even a seizure!
"When does your mother (me) fit into your schedule?", I ask.
He seriously replied with, "Around dinner time on Sundays. And the more I think about it, I like this schedule when I'm in college. I think I will get a two bedroom apartment to come home to.....ya know mom, like a bachelor pad. I will have a dog named Smith, who will be waiting at my door after a long day of work and school."
This child of mine has every intention of being on his own the minute he turns 18. I always thought he would want to stay in our home forever, and be under my loving care. But as each year goes by (especially now that he is an official teenager), I see him cutting the cord and growing his colorful wings.
It is very hard for his mother (me) to do the same.
But I will....
for the love of my beautiful, adventurous, independent, girl crazy, guitar lovin' son......
I will.
